Your role as Assistant Store Manager
You’ll be a strategic leader in the store – driving results, leading teams, and ensuring operational excellence in key areas of the store.
Your responsibilities include:
• Supporting the implementation of the store’s long-term strategy – ensuring compliance with Primark’s commercial objectives and the highest customer service standards.
• Making key decisions in the store – with real impact on how it operates.
• Leading and developing the team of managers and retail assistants – focusing on engagement, results, and collaboration.
• Driving commercial results – through strategic planning, data analysis, and a deep understanding of customer needs and market dynamics.
• Managing daily operations – ensuring smooth, compliant, and efficient functioning of the store across all departments.
• Responsibility for collaboration with the People & Culture (HR) department – including recruitment, onboarding, and development, in partnership with the Store Manager and People & Culture team.
• Monitoring market trends and competitor actions – identifying opportunities and risks for the store.
• Managing stock and resources – optimizing costs and ensuring product availability.
• Supporting local brand-building initiatives – and participating in international projects that drive Primark’s growth.
You’re a great fit if:
• You have several years of leadership experience in retail – ideally as a Regional/Area Manager in a large, dynamic environment or as a Store Manager in a large flagship store.
• You know how to lead and inspire large teams – both managers and retail assistants to achieve common goals.
• You combine commercial thinking with a practical approach – you understand what drives results and know how to turn insights into actions.
• You have strong interpersonal skills – you easily build relationships and inspire others, creating a positive work culture.
• You adapt well in a dynamic environment – you’re proactive, solution-oriented, and ready for change.
• You have strong planning and organizational skills and can work within deadlines.
• You speak English at an advanced level.
• You’re open to a flexible schedule, including weekends.
