IT Support Colleague
Join Our Newbridge Depot Team: As an IT Support Colleague, you'll provide on-site technical support across the depot, helping to maintain critical infrastructure, networks, and hardware. Acting as the eyes and ears for the infrastructure, networking, and depot hardware.
- Provide first-line IT support, responding promptly to technical issues and escalating where required.
- Support the resolution of networking incidents by performing basic connectivity checks and reporting findings.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, carrying out initial fault diagnosis and documenting clear escalation details.
- Manage and track support tickets, ensuring accurate records, timely updates, and effective follow-up.
- Liaise with third-party suppliers and service providers to coordinate issue resolution.
- Administer user access within WMS systems, including account creation, modification, and removal in line with security policies.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance on depot IT equipment, including kiosks and other end-user devices.
- Conduct routine physical inspections of servers and network equipment, checking cabling, hardware status, and environmental conditions.
- Support the smooth operation of depot technology infrastructure by acting as the on-site point of contact for IT-related issues.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities.
- Basic knowledge of networking (LAN, Wi-Fi, cabling, switch ports).
- Experience troubleshooting Windows devices and end-user hardware.
- Familiarity with Android-based Zebra devices.
- Strong problem-solving and ticket management skills.
- Proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Understanding of warehouse/distribution centre operations.
- Knowledge of WMS/WCS systems and reporting tools.
- Strong organisational skills and data accuracy.
Full-time site-based role operating across a team to provide cover as required for operations which can range from 6am to 10pm approx. Details can be discussed more at interview stage and will change with team over time as we better understand operational needs.
This role also includes Saturday working (likely 1 in 5 weekends), scheduled in line with business needs. flexibility is required to support peak periods and ensure operational continuity. the exact pattern of how Saturday working will operate can be discussed more at interview.
