RETAIL MANAGEMENT ROLES AT PRIMARK

As a Retail Manager at Primark, you're close to the action, supporting your team, keeping the store running smoothly, and making decisions that drive performance. You'll spend time on the shop floor, coach and develop your team, and use data to spot opportunities and priorities. It's a hands-on role where no two days are the same, and you can see the impact of your work every day. There are a range of retail management roles across our stores, and each one plays an important part in bringing the Primark experience to life.

Pink Star

team leader

Step into your first leadership role and support your team on the shop floor. You’ll look after the day-to-day in your area while helping Retail Assistants grow and build confidence. What you’ll do:
  • Lead and support Retail Assistants on the shop floor
  • Oversee daily tasks, including tills, and fitting rooms
  • Coach team members and give regular feedback
  • Keep standards high and your area running smoothly

department manager

Lead a department and focus on performance, people, and standards. You’ll balance running your area well with building a strong, engaged team. What you’ll do:

  • Lead and develop your team day-to-day
  • Drive sales and performance in your area
  • Use data to make decisions and track progress
  • Keep your team engaged and your department running well

visual merchandising manager

Shape how the store looks and feels. You’ll make sure products are easy to shop and presented in a way that makes customers want to buy. What you’ll do:

  • Set up and deliver clear, well-organized displays
  • Make sure products are easy to find and shop
  • Lead store layout and visual standards
  • Keep presentation consistent across the store

assistant store manager

Support the Store Manager and help run the wider store. You’ll work across teams, keeping performance on track and supporting other leaders. What you will do:

  • Help drive performance across departments
  • Support and develop Team Leaders and Department Managers
  • Keep operations running smoothly, including stock and priorities

Store manager

Lead the whole store and set the direction for your team. You’ll be responsible for performance, people, and how the store runs day-to-day. What you will do:
  • Lead the store team and drive overall performance
  • Set clear direction and priorities for the store
  • Develop leaders across all levels
  • Use data and trends to guide decisions
  • Build a strong team environment across the store

  3. Come Meet Us in store

    If you move forward, you'll be invited to one of our stores for an in-person interview.

  4. Talk Through the Role

    During your visit, you'll meet with a Store Manager and Store Business Partner and talk through real examples from the role.

  5. See Primark in Action

    You'll also spend time in store to get a feel for the role, the team, and what day-to-day life at Primark is really like.

  6. Meet More of the Team

    Depending on the role, you may meet with senior leaders to learn more about expectations and future opportunities with us.

  7. Final Review

    After interviews, we review all candidates and make final decisions.
