As a People & Culture Business Partner, you and your People & Culture team represent the HR department of your store. From recruitment and training to ensuring the well-being of your colleagues.
Role Overview
The Department Manager is responsible for leading and managing a specific department within the store, ensuring excellent customer service, strong team performance, and delivery of sales and operational targets.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of retail associates
- Drive a high-performance culture through regular feedback and support
- Manage scheduling, attendance, and team productivity
Customer Experience
- Ensure exceptional in-store customer experience at all times
- Handle escalations and resolve customer issues effectively
- Maintain strong visual merchandising and store standards
Sales & Performance
- Monitor department sales performance against targets
- Identify opportunities to improve sales and customer engagement
- Implement action plans to achieve KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
Operations & Compliance
- Ensure store policies and procedures are followed
- Maintain stock accuracy and inventory control
- Support audits and ensure compliance with company standards
Collaboration
- Work closely with Store Manager and other department managers
- Support wider store initiatives and campaigns
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in retail, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing teams in a high-volume retail environment
- Knowledge of retail KPIs and performance management
- Experience with workforce planning and scheduling
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field (preferred but not mandatory)

- You have completed a relevant degree or possess a comparable qualification
