Assistant Store Manager at Primark
As an Assistant Store Manager, you support the Store Manager in leading the team, maximizing sales, and optimizing store standards and service. You identify market trends, build networks, and make commercial decisions that influence the company’s success. In addition, you lead and support your team in recruiting, developing, and retaining a high-performing and engaged team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious, and flexible Assistant Store Manager for a 6-month period who will make a difference in our store and wants to be part of our Primark family!

What you do as an Assistant Store Manager
As an Assistant Store Manager, you are the backbone of the store. You make sure everything runs smoothly – from coaching your team to achieving sales goals. You are responsible for the store’s success and ensure customers always enjoy the best possible experience.
Assist the Store Manager in leading the team and optimizing sales and store standards.
Identify market trends and build a network of key external contacts, including managers of other retailers.
Make commercial decisions that impact the success of the store and the company.
Coordinate and coach your management team (Team Managers and Department Managers) to ensure a high-performing and engaged workforce.
Recruit, develop, and retain employees who meet our standards and contribute to store goals.
Act as the Store Manager’s deputy, taking full responsibility for daily operations and policy execution in their absence.
What we ask of you
Bachelor-level education or equivalent experience
Excellent command of both Dutch and English
Proven experience in retail management with full responsibility for sales, costs, and team development – preferably in a value-driven retail environment
Strong focus on customer satisfaction and service, with a commercial mindset to maximize sales opportunities
Strong leadership and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate your team
Commercial awareness, capable of managing costs while achieving sales targets
Effective communication skills, fostering a positive work culture and promoting collaboration
