As a People & Culture Business Partner, you and your People & Culture team represent the HR department of your store. From recruitment and training to ensuring the well-being of your colleagues.


Role Overview

The Department Manager is responsible for leading and managing a specific department within the store, ensuring excellent customer service, strong team performance, and delivery of sales and operational targets.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of retail associates
  • Drive a high-performance culture through regular feedback and support
  • Manage scheduling, attendance, and team productivity

Customer Experience

  • Ensure exceptional in-store customer experience at all times
  • Handle escalations and resolve customer issues effectively
  • Maintain strong visual merchandising and store standards

Sales & Performance

  • Monitor department sales performance against targets
  • Identify opportunities to improve sales and customer engagement
  • Implement action plans to achieve KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure store policies and procedures are followed
  • Maintain stock accuracy and inventory control
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with company standards

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Store Manager and other department managers
  • Support wider store initiatives and campaigns

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing teams in a high-volume retail environment
  • Knowledge of retail KPIs and performance management
  • Experience with workforce planning and scheduling

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field (preferred but not mandatory)

  • You have completed a relevant degree or possess a comparable qualification
